Hurricane Beryl, the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season, has delayed the victorious Indian team's return to the country. According to reports, the hurricane had intensified with maximum sustained winds of 210 kmph, thus making air travel extremely unsafe. While the Indian team was supposed to return by Tuesday, now their return will be delayed by at least a day.

The Category 4 hurricane was about 570km east-southeast of Barbados and there are reports that the airport in Bridgetown will shut in the evening.

The Indian team was supposed to take an Emirates flight from New York via Dubai.
